Residential Window Cleaning: How to make Easy Money.

If your interested in learning how to make easy money today, we think an easy way for you to make money is window cleaning. Recently, we wrote about gutter cleaning; cleaning windows is every bit as easy. We will show you how to get started, what to charge and how to make it a success.
Most window washers make $20 to $50 dollars an hour. These are the going rates for window washers in my area.

Exterior Windows are $2 to $3.5 per pane. A regular window has 2 pane, but some have one and some have three or for. The average house will have 30 to 50 window panes.
Interior Windows are a lot faster and easier to clean. We typically charge $1 to $2 per pane for interior windows.

There are also some extra services you can add
Window Screen Cleaning, $1 per screen
Chandelier and light cleaning, price depends on size of lights
Skylight cleaning.

Depending on what extras you add to the service, most of your jobs will range in price from $80 to $180 and will take between 3 and 6 hours. The nice part about this job is that nearly everything you make is profit.

What do you need to get the job done right?
Window Squeegee
Towels
Spray bottles
Cleaning solution
A frame ladder
24 to 28 ft extension ladder
Total cost of materials to start this business: $200 to 240
*You may also need a roof rake

How to advertise? You can check out small newspapers and put in a cheap add or two. Also you may want to print and run 2,000 flyers door to door. (Once you get work you can pay others to do this.)

Two other relater services you can advertise on the same flier are gutter cleaning and pressure washing.

Money the Easy Way, Cleaning Gutters?

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

So if you are interested in a really easy way to make money now, you could probably make money tomorrow cleaning gutters. This is a really easy business to start because all it requires is a ladder and a bucket. If you already have a bucket all you have to do is borrow the ladder. (For a complete list of recommended equipment please click on Gutter Cleaning Tools. If you have a job, you could do it on Saturdays, if you are between jobs you could easily make 300 dollars a day cleaning out gutters on 3 houses.

Peak seasons vary throughout the country but generally the fall and the Spring are super busy times for gutter cleaners.

To start this business simply find a street that has a lot of trees and fairly nice houses. When you knock doors say something to this effect. “Hey, I was in the neighborhood cleaning gutters for a few of your neighbors for a great price and I was wondering if you have cleaned your gutters yet this year?” When they say ‘no’, ask them if they would like a free estimate to have them cleaned.

Side note: Most people like to use the word ‘no’ with someone they don’t know the first time they meet you. If they say ‘no’ first, they are more likely to say yes latter. Plus this makes it kind of a fun game for you. I once used this tactic to pick up jobs for seven houses in a row.

If you are people phobic, you may also elect to run flyers. Depending on the area, how good your flyers are, and what time of year it is, you should plan on getting between 2 and 10 jobs for every 500 flyers you run.

A note on picking good nieghborhoods. I have cleaned gutters in the past and it seems 90% of people who pay you to clean gutters have a jacuzzi so pick affluent middle class nieghborhoods for the best results.

Be careful this job can be dangerous, cold, and dirty, but the worse conditions get, the busier you get. Afterall no one in their right mind except you wants to clean gutters if they can avoid it.
